Franklin “Ace” Dawes is a Brooklyn-based self-taught dancer, mentor, and teaching artist known for his signature bone-breaking style and iconic use of hats in performance. With over a decade of experience performing, teaching, and mentoring youth through movement, Ace has inspired countless young people to embrace creativity, emotional expression, and confidence through dance. He is widely recognized for his achievements in major dance battles including Battlefest League, D.R.E.A.M., and Zilla Madness.
Through his work with the Flex Dance Program, Ace uses dance as a form of healing and self-expression, empowering youth to discover their voices and build community. As he often says, “Flex is my freedom of speech.”
